    I understand that concern that your Mi 5X is with a Global ROM and the bootloader is unlocked of a Mi Max 2. With respect to your concern I would request you to perform the following steps to resolve the issue.


    Sign Out from your Mi Account : -

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Select Mi Account
    3. Then confirm to Sign Out


    Create a Backup : -

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Select Additional Settings
    3. Select Backup and Reset
    4. Select Local Backups
    5. Select Backup
    6. Select Accounts and Contacts & Deselect System
    7. Then select Backup so that a Backup would be created



    For Finding Backup File :-

    1. Go to Internal Storage
    2. Select MIUI
    3. Select Backup
    4. Select All Backup


    (Note :- Please save the backup file in your PC/ Laptop, so that your important data would be prevented)



    MIUI Update :-

    1. Go to the mentioned link: http://en.miui.com/
    2. Click on Downloads
    3. Select your device
    4. Select device name>Global (If you are using Chinese Version then would request you to select "China")
    5. Select 'Download Full ROM'. (Stable ROM)
    6. Now after downloading Zip file, copy this file in the internal storage of your device in a folder named downloaded_rom which exists in File Explorer (If the particular folder is not there in internal storage of your device, then please create a new folder with the same name)
    7. Then go into Tools >> Updater
    8. Tap on '...' icon at the top right side/ long press menu button
    9. Choose update package
    10. Select the download package
    11. Click on OK


    Restoring Data :-

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Select Additional Settings
    3. Select Backup and Reset
    4. Select Local Backups
    5. Select Backup File
    6. Select Restore in order to complete this process
